Life Competencies

Project Overview
This interactive module is part of a larger Competency Matrix initiative, designed to raise awareness of the key life and workplace competencies expected across different levels of the organization — from team member, senior, team leader, and manager to director. The matrix serves multiple purposes: guiding personal growth, informing promotion pathways, and shaping targeted interventions for functions such as sales, customer care, operations, and teaching teams.

Focus of This Prototype
The version included in my portfolio is built specifically for new team members. Its primary purpose is not to evaluate performance, but to familiarize learners with the company’s competency expectations and prepare them for a later Competency Face-to-Face discussion. The module helps them build a shared language and awareness of skills before the in-person session, making that discussion more reflective and constructive.

Learning Experience Design

  • Autonomy & Navigation: Learners are free to complete the core areas in any order, giving them a sense of control and flexibility.
  • Engaging Assessment: Each core area contains short, scenario-based quiz questions. Scores are capped at 10 points per core area, but they are not used for evaluation — instead, they act as prompts for reflection and sharing.
  • Tailored Feedback: After each set, learners receive recommendations linked to their score band. These aren’t judgments but growth-oriented suggestions designed to spark peer conversation.
  • Practical Relevance: Scenarios are contextualized for workplace settings, with application to everyday professional behaviors.

Positioning
This project shows my ability to:

  • Translate a complex competency framework into an accessible, learner-friendly tool.
  • Design scalable learning experiences that can be adapted for different audiences (new hires, high potentials, or leadership).
  • Combine L&D strategy (competency-based development, promotion criteria) with hands-on instructional design (Storyline, SCORM, interactive elements).
